Wilderness & Survival (7th-12th)
Description
Teacher: Stacie Yocum
Water. Shelter. Food. Team up with fellow classmates to learn the basics of wilderness survival- then put your skills to the test! Students will combine informational sessions with hands-on practice to become survival pros and "make it out of the wilderness" together safely.
Supply cost: $15
Supplies needed: Emergency survival kit- details provided after registration (will be under $35). Notebook. Pen or pencil.
Prerequisites: Keen listening skills. Appropriate maturity level to take safety instruction seriously.
Note: Students will be spending time outdoors regularly and should come dressed appropriately for the weather. Some activities in this class have the potential to be dangerous (working with pocket knives, fire, etc) and students will be expected to follow all safety instructions to not put themselves or others at risk.
