Berta
Cáceres is coordinator of the indigenous
community alliance, Civil Council of Popular
and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras (COPINH).
Days after leading a mass mobilization against
privatization in Honduras, Berta will speak
about the struggle by indigenous peoples, workers,
campesinos, and activists around the world to
put control over development back in the hands
of the communities it affects, fighting back
against plans such as the Free Trade Area of
the Americas (FTAA) and Plan Puebla-Panamá.
